Long time, no blog
My last entry in the original rondayview was December 21, 2001---almost two years ago. Shortly after that our then seven-year-old son, Thomas, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer, and our lives were changed forever. Rondayview went quiet against other priorities. I did blog during the past two years, but as everything about our lives was focused around Thomas, everything I wrote was about him.
I feel like we're on "the other side" of dealing with the cancer now. Thomas did not come through it unscathed---he lost an eye and eye socket and endured tremendous suffering---but he came through it as a conqueror, and he is presently as happy an adolescent as you'd ever meet. Life seems to have returned to some semblance of normalcy.
I've thought about ressurecting the blog for several weeks now, and finally made some time today to actually do it. I haven't yet decided what to do with the old site---for now I'm just going to leave it up at old.rondayview.com as it existed when I made that last entry nearly two years ago.
This new site is running initially on Movable Type 2.64---the old site was version 1.31---and I want to offer my praise and appreciation to Ben and Mena Trott for the excellent work they continue to do with this tool. If you keep a weblog and you're not using Movable Type, you can't imagine what you're missing!

you sound like a very strong person.
keep blogging.
hope you encounter nothing but good news from now on.
